One of my all-time favorite quotes is the following from Ben Franklin…

This quote is a mantra that has guided me as a coach and leader.

When we, as coaches, fail to plan, we’re not just hoping things work out—we’re actually setting ourselves and our teams up to fail.

The foundation of any successful season, week, or practice starts with intentional organization. And I am sharing a few tools for you today to help:

When I plan practices, I focus on the big picture as well as the day-to-day details.

I always reflect on the following…

• How will I build culture today?

• How will I develop our leaders today?

• What individual goals do I have for players?

• Where do we need to get better as a team today (pick one thing)?

• I tell myself → less is more, and simple wins! (I need this reminder)

Organization doesn’t just make you more efficient; it builds confidence in your players.
