My name is Greg Berge, and I have been a teacher, coach, and school administrator for 31 years. I currently serve as the High School Principal and Varsity Boys' Basketball Coach in Lake City, MN. I am a Sports Leadership Consultant and owner of GB1 Leadership LLC.
My 21 years in school administration have provided me with a unique and broad perspective on leadership, team development, and the factors that contribute to team and individual success. My 20 years as a Varsity Basketball Coach and numerous years as an assistant coach in multiple sports have given me valuable insight into what makes great teams.

As an assistant varsity coach, I have also helped coach teams that won multiple section championships in football and girls' golf. I have also been fortunate to coach numerous players who competed at the college level (NCAA Division I, Division II, NAIA Division II, and Division III).
My wife, Heidi, and I have raised two wonderful kids. They were both three-sport athletes, encompassing various roles in different sports. My daughter won two team State Championships in golf and is a Division II golfer. My son was on a third-place state tournament basketball team. As "sports parents," we experienced the many ups and downs that come with the whole athletic experience.
I began speaking and writing to share what I have learned with others in the hopes of growing the critical coaching profession and helping coaches build Great Teams and Better Leaders.
Since 2022, I have led Leadership and Culture training to over 30 schools across the Midwest, written five books, and created numerous free and paid resources for coaches. I have written a free newsletter for coaches every Thursday morning since April 2022 and now have 15,000+ readers. On "X," I have grown from 500 followers in 2022 to over 50,000+ today.
