About Greg Berge
I've spent 31 years as a teacher, coach, and school leader. I currently serve as High School Principal in Lake City, MN, and run GB1 Leadership LLC, where I work with coaches and school leaders on team culture, leadership development, and building winning programs.
Coaching Career
After 20 years as a varsity basketball coach, I stepped away from coaching to spend more time with my wife and kids and to grow GB1 Leadership. Over those two decades, our program built a record worth being proud of:
393 Wins, 146 Losses
11 Conference Championships (9 consecutive)
3 Section Championships
As an assistant coach, I also helped lead teams to multiple section championships in football and girls' golf, and coached numerous players who went on to compete at the college level: NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA.
School Leadership
My 21 years in school administration have given me a front-row seat to what separates good teams from great ones, in athletics and in organizations. That perspective shapes everything I teach.
Family
My wife Heidi and I raised two kids who were both three-sport athletes. Our daughter won two state golf championships and competed at the Division II level. Our son was part of a third-place state tournament basketball team. We lived the athletic journey as parents: the wins, the losses, and everything in between.
GB1 Leadership
Since 2022, I've led leadership and culture training at 30+ schools across the Midwest, written five books, and built a library of free and paid resources for coaches. My newsletter goes out every Thursday to 15,000+ readers. On X, I've grown from 500 followers to 57,000+.
